The final solution consisted of 2 parts: our conversation pit and flower power stickers
The Conversation Pit was our response to the somewhat clinical floor plans of current laundromats, providing an elevated safe space for the homeless to access the services they need.
The Flower Power stickers provide a chance for the homeless and struggling to share their stories, and additionally they are a form of analogue advertising for people who do not have access to mobile phones and or social media.
We hope that through our design, the homeless in rural communities can have a place where they feel at home to speak about their issues and access the services they need, with the help of orange sky laundry volunteers.
Our flower power stickers will ensure that the right people are getting the help they need, and additionally through it's placement in the local community, will help to start the conversation around homelessness, helping to remove the stigma around being without a home.
